Jeff Woodard, Warren County Director of Social Services

Jeff Woodard became the director of Warren County Social Services on July 1, 2008. He leads a department of over 20 different programs, with nearly 65 staff members responsible for providing public assistance, child welfare services, medical assistance, food and nutritional services, Work First assistance, adult services programs, transportation assistance, crisis and emergency services, and an administrative division responsible for assuring the efficient and effective operation of each service.

Woodard comes to Warren County with more than 20 years of county government experience - primarily in Wake County, where he served as the regional director for the Eastern Regional Governmental Center.

Jeff holds a bachelor degree in social work from North Carolina State University � Raleigh, NC and a master degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served as a field instructor for UNC, NC State, and ECU schools of social work programs as well as a board member for NC State College of Humanities and Social Sciences and chairperson for NC State Social Work Advisory Committee.

In 2004, the North Carolina State University School of Social Work, selected him as the professional social work alumnus of the year. Woodard also served as social work commencement speaker during that year. He has held memberships in the National Association of Social Workers, Family Support Network/Family Support of America, and the National Association of Job Training Assistance. Woodard is married with children.
