Minimum Standards for Employment
Every person seeking employment as a deputy, detention officer, or telecommunicator by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office shall, in accordance with the rule of the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office:
Be a citizen of the United States;
Be at least 21 years of age;
Be a high school graduate or possess a general equivalency diploma (GED);
Consent to a medical examination by a physician licensed to practice in North Carolina;
Have a negative result on a drug screening according to the specifications of the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission;
Be of good moral character; and
Have not committed or been convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors.
